Passage: Hebrews 4:14-16
- Background: the incredible connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament
- You should have the greatest hope in Jesus that He will provide everything you need (v. 14). Hebrews 4:14 [NLT] 14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.
- Jesus understands all the garbage you face (v. 15). Hebrews 4:15 [NLT] 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
- Jesus wants us to ask Him boldly (v. 16a). Hebrews 4:16a [NLT] 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
- The freedom of grace and mercy (v. 16b). Hebrews 4:16b [NLT] 16 There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
- But first, we must know that Jesus is truly our High Priest.
