The Bread of Life

Passage: John 6:32-51

1) Don’t look for a quick-fix Jesus. (vs. 22-31) If the only reason we go to Jesus is to get a quick fix to our problems, then we miss Jesus all together.  Expect miracles from Jesus, but want Jesus for Jesus first.  If you are more concerned about what brand of Christianity you are identifying with than you are concerned with Jesus Himself, you’ve missed Jesus all-together.  Learn to savor Jesus.

2) Jesus gives you what lasts. (vs. 32-40) Once you get Jesus, you always have Jesus.  Hunger - we physically crave and we spiritually crave.  There is a spiritual hunger in us that we so often try to fill with things of this world and it never lasts.  Where’s your spiritual hunger?  What is the one thing you can’t put down?  Let that go for a season.  And replace that time with Jesus and become spiritually hungry again.

3) Savoring Jesus prepares you for eternity. (vs. 41-51)  When know you the source of life, you know how to live this life.  Jesus isn’t about being your life coach, Jesus wants to be your life disrupter.  Savor Jesus. Know Jesus. Fall in love with Jesus.   Why? Because He’s the only thing that satisfies, sustains, and secures.
